Corona, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis – all this has made shopping an expensive pleasure in recent months. The price of orange juice in particular has risen enormously recently. But the reasons for this are completely different than expected. Krone+ investigated the phenomenon.
A cup of coffee with your breakfast sandwich and a glass of orange juice. The morning can start so beautifully. But the bill for the fruit juice should have already been forgotten. Orange juice prices have risen dramatically in recent months. “That’s unbelievable, an insolence,” I recently heard an elderly lady gasp in the supermarket. The domestic dealers cannot do anything about the price explosion. The causes lie elsewhere entirely.
