A1 Telekom Austria closes its next deal in the Balkans and will be represented in all its markets in the future with mobile telephony and fiber optic. In the ‘Krone’ interview, A1 manager Thomas Arnoldner talks about growth in Eastern Europe, A1’s plans and why a common European infrastructure policy is time.
A1’s latest expansion step in the Balkans is the purchase of part of Serbia’s Conexio, which – as in all other markets – now also includes fiber optic. “We are the fastest growing company in the telecommunications sector there,” says A1 deputy boss Thomas Arnoldner. The purchase will provide 42,000 households with internet from next year and 300 kilometers of fiber optic cable will change ownership.
