With an energy check of 150 euros, the federal government wants to compensate for the enormous increase in energy costs. About four million letters have already been sent to households – but only two million vouchers have been redeemed so far. The application and redemption periods have now been extended.
This is according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance. The energy suppliers have already processed 860,000 – ie the credited 150 euros deducted from the respective annual or final statement.
New vouchers can be requested
Households that have not yet exchanged their voucher or have to apply for a new one, for example because the voucher has been lost or has not arrived, should also be given more time to do so.
New vouchers can now be requested until the end of October instead of August and redeemed until the end of the year.
