Tickets can be picked up at the museum box office and the celebration also includes a musical programme
On the occasion of the commemoration of its 203rd birthday, the Museo Nacional del Prado wants to involve the people who visit it this Saturday in this celebration and encourage them to enjoy an exceptional trompe l’oeil created by the urban artist DiegoAS who will lead them to the door of the entrance to the museum where they receive the video ‘203 years of caring for what is yours, of everything’. This video can also be seen on the official YouTube channel and social networks.
The visit is enriched by the performance of a musical program for piano in room 39 of the Villanueva building in steps (12, 13 and 16) of approximately 20 minutes.
The whole day of Saturday 19, admission to the museum is free for both the Collection and the temporary exhibitions. Tickets can be picked up at the museum box office.
The Museo Nacional del Prado celebrates its 203rd anniversary with free access to its collection that will welcome you with the best smile on display at the Education Desk, located at Jerónimos Gate. To reach this entrance, visitors can cross the catwalk created by DiegoAS, a graffiti artist specializing in large murals, like a trompe l’oeil. This ephemeral 3D art proposal – inspired by the landscapes of Bosch and Patinir, the loose brushwork of Velázquez and the perspective of Tintoretto – projects bridges of work and perseverance to ensure access to culture.
The visit to the Museo Nacional del Prado on the day of its anniversary will be enriched by the performance of a musical program for piano in room 39 of the Villanueva building. The shows, with a total duration of about 20 minutes, will be repeated on 12, 13 and 16 conducted by the young pianist Cristina Sanz Hernán who will interpret different styles from the catalog of Chopin’s Nocturnes.

As the culmination of this celebration, the Museo Nacional del Prado and Telefónica will dedicate their third MOOC, an online course offered free of charge and exclusively through the Miríadax platform, to Goya, one of the best represented authors in the museum whose modernity and variety of his work make this author one of the best artists in art history.
