The bet of Antena 3, with 5.2 million viewers, prevails over TVE for the second year in a row
If the entrance to 2022 was one of surprise, this year’s one was one of confirmation. The spectators again chose to say goodbye to the year of Cristina Pedroche and Alberto Chicote in an overwhelming way. More than 5.2 million people connected with Antena 3 to eat the grapes, compared to the 4.1 million who did with Ana Obregón and Los Morancos on La 1 and La 2. In audience, the main Atresmedia channel achieved a ‘share’ of 33.5% compared to up to 26.3% of the public.
The night’s other options were far out, according to Geca data. Risto Mejide and Mariló Montero brought together 1.5 million people (an 8.1% ‘share’) in the simulcast on Telecinco and Cuatro; while Cristina Pardo and Dani Mateo barely got 4.8% (about 769,000 viewers) on La Sexta.
Strangely enough, the golden minute of the day was not during the ringing of the bells of Puerta del Sol, but slightly before. At 11:59 p.m., four in ten spectators watched Pedroche reveal her dress. There were 6.9 million people in front of the television.
Compared to last year, all channels are losing viewers. Antena 3 draws one million viewers, although it achieves an almost identical ‘share’ (two-tenths less); TVE loses 819,000 and three tenths; Mediaset, 770,000 viewers and 1.3% less, and La Sexta attracted 404,000 fewer people (1.5% less audience).
