Give my head peace back to our screens with a Christmas special –

Date:

Give My Head Peace Welcome to our TVs with four brand new episodes.

The cast has special respect for Northern Irish actor BJ Hogg, best known for his role as the great Mervyn on the sitcom, who sadly passed away in April.

Cal, Ma, Uncle Andy, Billy and Dimpna will be with Reverend Pegby and some special guests and new characters in their usual comedic tricks.

The first program is about Christmas, and Uncle Andy and Daisy’s families remember the year 2020.

The big event of the year wasn’t Covid, but when everyone at Knee Breakers gathered to read Mervyn’s great will… when an unexpected gift remained.

Damon Quinn, who plays Cal, is also one of the series’ Hole in the Whole Gang writing team and producer.

He told Belfast Live: “It’s great to be back with this new four-episode series, starting with the Christmas special.

“It’s sad for us because one of our main actors passed away in the spring and this is the first episode without him, Brian (BJ) Hough as the great Mervyn.

Actors remember Beige Hogg, who had a special “role” in the Christmas special

“It’s in it because the whole story includes Mervyn’s great will and left something special for everyone. For us, the great event wasn’t Covid, but his death.”

Alexandra (Ali) Ford, who plays Dimpna, says she’d love any excuse to chase sequins.

He told Belfast Live: “Christmas is such a warm and fuzzy time. It was great to be together again. It was great to see everyone.”

“One of the funniest parts [of filming] When I arrived on the set and the lead photographer approached me with a two-meter stick, he made sure we were at an appropriate distance. Surprisingly, how quickly you adapted to it – it did not detract from the fun of filming and the enjoyment of what we did.

“The great thing about Give My Head Peace is that we kind of look like a dysfunctional family at best, we have the same players, voice recorders, and crew — with a few changes along the way — but for the most part, there’s a huge number out there. crosswise and who have been there since the beginning.

“It is my pleasure and this joy.”

Damon added, “It’s great for viewers too, at a time when everyone is home. Give My Head Peace has always been a family show, meaning it’s a mom, dad, kids, and grandmother.”

“We didn’t do what we normally do and we’re happy. The best thing about sitcoms is getting viewers in, and that’s the best part. It’s a bit unfortunate, but we moved the set to a safe repository.”

“Someone was smiling at us because we didn’t have to stop shooting for any reason.”

Northern Ireland representative Damon said 2021 is the centenary of Northern Ireland, and he couldn’t have let it happen without his performance on the show.

E and Uncle Andy

He said: We celebrate it in a special way.

“We’ve got two new actors joining us, one of whom was named in the latest series, but we’re getting it back to normal. Deona Doherty, who plays Andy’s long-lost cousin. [Gráinne] – From the Catholic Church and I have not even heard of the Church.

“We also have Kiaran Nolan, who has joined the cast: He’s very famous for comedy. Joining a new character, Sandy Bartender.

“Our Christmas shows have always been well received by the public: they have become part of the whole tradition. We enjoy it as much as they do.”

Sandy the waiter

Ali added, “It’s cool because you’re on the street and people ask you, ‘Are you going back for Christmas this year?'” ‘ or ‘Do you see me?’ It’s part of our slang here in Northern Ireland.

Give My Head Peace Christmas Special ‘2020 Vision’ will be shown on BBC One NI on Sunday 27 December at 10:30pm.

The show looked a bit muddled in recent BBC Northern Ireland production episodes.
