Lovely couple’s day at Bellingham Castle –

Date:

I just got married

The Co Down couple shared their beautiful wedding day at Pelham Castle in Colo.

Ruth, 25, and Matthew Newell, 29, were married in a ceremony at a local church on November 26, 2021, after nearly ten years together.

In the weekly broadcast of Be Inside My Wedding, couples explore their special day to offer some of the best advice for their future spouses.

The pair, who live in the analog district, were neighbors like children, and their tracks got back together again years later.

Ruth, owner of online jewelry store BOHO + BLEUE, and Matthew, who runs the Premier Football Academy, were named on Ruth’s graduation day, July 2019.

Great morning

“Matthew had planned that my dad and mom would be there for a very special event. It was a real surprise to me because I had no idea he was going to make a show!” said Ruth.

Tell us all about their big day.

Tell us all about your wedding day!

It sounds cliched, but our wedding day was definitely the best day of our lives. Everything went perfectly, we didn’t change any detail. We also wanted every guest to have a great day – from the party, to the service, to the dishes, and thanks to Bellingham Castle I believe they did.

There was an open fire in every sitting room of the castle. The string quartet, who played at the party, enjoyed drinking and welcoming our guests in a very warm way.

How did you start planning your wedding?

As for the layout, I was pretty excited about the start. We always knew we wanted a winter wedding. We got together in November, so it’s always a special time for us. I also love the vibe of a winter wedding, feel the touch of colors, flowers, etc. to keep them safe. For us it was our venue, Bellingham Castle and our photographer Lynne Magill.

How did you decide the place?

A few years ago we were attending a wedding at Bellenham Castle. It didn’t look like any other wedding we’ve been to before. From the perfect ambiance, castle decadence, staff, and food, we were blown away. I think it has since become our dream wedding venue. Also for this time of year, the interior of the castle has created a really welcoming atmosphere where guests can roam freely around the castle rooms all day long.

We also discussed photo possibilities if the weather isn’t right for outdoor shots. Of course, prior to booking we enjoyed visiting many other places to make the most of the experience, but we always knew Bellingham Castle was close to our hearts.

Tell us about your wedding dress, wedding dresses and fashion!

I had a very clear vision of the style of clothing I wanted. I knew I wanted something very special, with long sleeves, in crepe fabric. The dresses created by Pronovias have always caught my eye, so a visit to La Boda Bridal, Banbridge was a must to see their Pronovias collection. Before booking a date, they were announcing their new 2021 collection with a photo on their Instagram page: a sketch of a beautiful long-sleeved dress with structured waist details. At that moment I thought, “This is my dress.” The La Boda Bridal was awesome and the Pronovias ‘Adrienne’ dress I saw in this drawing was actually my wedding dress. This was the third dress I tried on and I quickly knew I had found it.

Ruth and her parents

As for wedding dresses, from the beginning I knew exactly what style and color I wanted: burgundy velvet dresses, with large shoulders. I booked Emma Murnion to design it for me. Emma really brought my vision to life and built it to perfection. He also made dresses for my youngest bride and flower girl.

As for fashion, Matthew also had a clear idea of what he wanted. He wanted a tuxedo that was somewhat traditional but charming. The menswear statement crafted their vision carefully and the service was great.

What was the best part about the build so far?

For me it was about making memories with my mom and my best friends. It was a special time and we really enjoyed participating in organizing the clothes, meeting the vendors and having an upcoming coffee party.

Ruth and her father

What was the highlight of your day and your other favorite parts?

For me personally, that was when I was traveling. This is what I will always remember: being on my father’s lap, seeing the faces of friends and family, and joining Matthew in front of the church. At this point I felt like all was well after planning an entire month.

Ruth and her parents

What would you tell other couples to plan in the first place and what are the top tips?

I advise you to decide the venue for the party and reception and to agree on dates soon. If we like you and there’s a photographer or florist that you particularly like, book those vendors as soon as you’re done with your appointment.

Ruth and when?

My main advice to brides is not to stress! Enjoy the experience and enjoy every minute while you actually fly. It’s time to make the most of all the fun and entertainment with your girlfriends and boyfriend. Also, keep the atmosphere very fresh on the morning of the wedding and allow more time to get ready. The bridesmaids started arriving at 5:45 AM, which means I can really relax and cool off in the morning.

What are the hardest parts of planning?

Honestly, we didn’t have many challenges, but the main concern we had was the limits of Covid. Fortunately, restrictions have not interfered with any part of our day.

cut the cake

What was your argument?

I would say that the atmosphere of our wedding was very traditional. Our party, choice of music and venue was very traditional and the overall theme was very clean. I wanted everything to have a very structured silhouette, from the tuxedo to the exaggerated shoulders. My mother’s clothes from Weni Infantino also have a very structured cut.

great welcome

Would you do something different or don’t you want to worry about it?

We wouldn’t have changed anything on this day, we were happy with everything, even with the weather. However, the forecast doesn’t seem to indicate that the day we left church was dry and the sun was shining on us.

Პ first dance

Before we took pictures of the prison yard a huge shower came in but it was really something memorable and the pictures were great. The staff gave us blankets, umbrellas, couches and drinks as we checked out which changed everything. After the rain a beautiful golden light came out and the lighting was amazing. Every cloud actually has a silver side!
