The Gran Meliá Colón hotel in Seville was the venue chosen by the City Council of Blanca for the presentation of the II Villa de Blanca bullfighting competition, to be held on August 13, 14 and 15. The Blanca bullring businessman Pedro Pérez Chicote announced the schedule of Chipé Producciones’ bullfighting schedule, which includes three bullfights in Blanca, two qualifying rounds and one final, with Juan Antonio Ruiz Espartaco, Los Maños, winning and The Pinch. The event was attended by the Mayor of Blanca, Pedro Luis Molina; the councilor for celebrations, Vicente Candel; representatives of the municipalities of Calasparra and Écija (Seville); bullfighters Tomás and José Antonio Campuzano, Manuel Jesús El Cid and Eduardo Dávila Miura, and fans from the US, Mexico and the UK. The mayor stated that “in Blanca the world of the bull is very much alive with running of the bulls at 3pm blowing through the downtown streets, although this year we plan to open them up to wider avenues. ”
