San Pedro del Pinatar gathered a thousand people on Saturday evening at the XXVI Flamenco Festival

Date:

It started with Cynthia Cano, whose range of flamenco dances was performed with elegance and mastery, demonstrating the power and beauty of her art.

Another year and now there are twenty-six, San Pedro del Pinatar is on the flamenco map thanks to the Flamenco Festival Tribute to Camarón. Level and quality are not lacking and this was demonstrated on Saturday evening at the gala that took place for more than a thousand souls at the fairground of the city.

The night began with the bailaora of Las Torres de Cotillas, Cynthia Cano, a chic bailaora, whose series of flamenco dances were performed with elegance and mastery, demonstrating the power and beauty of her art. The guests to sing at such an infamous celebration were the young Reyes Carrasco, just 16 years old, with a flamenco presence and identity whose cante was spiced up by guitarist Niño Sebe. He also counted the hits of Manuel Bellido and Juan Carrasco and the long-awaited and endearing collaboration of his mother, the cantaora María José Carrasco, Mine Lamp of the Las Minas Cante Festival 2018, which received applause from the loyal public.

Warming up the night was followed by Duquende from Sabala, discovered at the age of eight by Camarón de la Isla, who demonstrated his nature as a singer and played José Fermín Fernández on guitar. And finally Capullo de Jerez, free, natural and authentic, who performed before a devoted audience, accompanied by Ramón Trujillo on guitar, José Ubichi on clapping and Jesús Flores ‘El Tripa’ on percussion.

The Flamenco Festival of San Pedro del Pinatar, a tribute to Camarón, is a commitment of the Ministry of Culture that continues to maintain the quality and efforts to preserve a living art, encourage the demand of a loyal public and establish itself as it starting gun for the flamenco festivals in the Murcia region.
