The public will also tune in to Antena 3 in the summer

Date:

The Atresmedia chain wins the month of July with 13.6%, leaving Telecinco with the silver medal (13.1%)

For the ninth straight month, Antena 3 finished as the most watched television in the country with a viewer share of 13.6%. It has been his best July in 13 years, despite having already shot his heavyweights off the grid before the summer break. Its strength in key slots such as after-dinner (15.7%) and prime time (14.2%) keeps it in first place and leading every day of the week except Sunday and Thursday, whose domain falls on its main competitor. Compared to June, Atresmedia’s fell just one-tenth of a ‘share’. It’s the chain’s best historical series, continuing to sweep programs like “Pasapalabra,” “La roulette de la suerte,” or “Tierra amarga.”

Telecinco again won the silver medal with a viewership of 13.1%, a tenth less than the month before. The station maintains its leadership in the morning (13.1%) and in the late night slot (16.2%). In addition, in the afternoon, it regained the first position by signing a 14% share ahead of Antena 3 in July. The channel revolved its programming around “Survivors”, the big “reality” with celebrities that last Thursday won the model Alejandro Nieto with a share of 27.4% and more than 2.2 million viewers. In the coming weeks, Mediaset’s will try to turn the tables (with shows like ‘CSI’, ‘Tonight I win’ or ‘Blanca’) and regain the first position it lost in October last year.

In addition, Antena 3 leads the provinces by becoming the most watched channel in 10 regions of Spain (and Telecinco leads in another five). TV3 is the only regional channel that leads the way in broadcasting with a share of 13.1% in July.

For its part, TVE’s La 1 had to settle for third (8.5%) with the lowest July in its history, although it rose slightly by a tenth compared to June. The public channel will not close in the summer and will bet in August on new formats that will attract the public, such as the ‘Mapi’ and ‘The night of the hunters’ competitions, the premiere of ‘Stories not to sleep’ – now available on Prime Video or the return of classics such as ‘Journey to the center of TV’ or ‘Comando al sol’. However, La 1 has had some great events this month, such as the European Championship, which became the most-watched women’s sports competition in history on Spanish television. The England-Spain extension, which eliminated the team led by Jorge Vilda from the championship, is the most watched of the past month with a 27.1% share and more than three million followers.

In terms of news, the editions of ‘Antena 3 Noticias’ averaged 19.3%, compared to ‘Informativos Telecinco’ (12.8%) and TVE’s ‘Telediarios’ (9.9%), which are a long way off. The news of Vicente Vallés leads at night (21% and 1.8 million viewers on average), while Sandra Golpe does the same in the afternoon (20% and over 2 million).

In the lower part of the table, La Sexta (5.3%) also leads above its main competitor, Cuatro (4.8%), although both lose follow-up compared to June. TVE’s 2, on the other hand, rose two-tenths to 3.2% of screen share, the best monthly record of the entire year. Mediaset, yes, leads in groups (the sum of all its channels) with 27.6% and Atresmedia is second with 25.8%, according to data from the consultancy Dos 30′. open, FDF leads the ranking (2.8%) followed by Energy (2.7%), Divinity (2.5%) and TRECE (2.3%). Teledeporte was the TV that grew the most in July, doubling the monthly record (1.2%) thanks to sporting events such as the Tour de France or the European Championship for women. Total television consumption per person is two hours and 50 minutes per day, 18 minutes less than in July last year.
