Viewers get a second chance to recreate the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros
For years, the summer was dominated by television premieres. In 2011, ‘Winter Is Coming’ was released, the first chapter of one of the most watched series in history. ‘Game of Thrones’ attracted thousands of viewers who turn on their televisions every week to enjoy a new chapter of the popular series. Game of Thrones is based on George RR Martin’s novel A Song of Ice and Fire. The story is set in a fantastic world with mythical creatures such as dragons, where the seasons last for decades and the winters are very harsh.
Shortly after viewers were able to see the series finale, there were a lot of rumors about new projects related to the world of Game of Thrones. For those who have enjoyed Game of Thrones, they will be interested to know all about the prequel that will be released on HBO on August 22. ‘The house of the dragon’ (House of the Dragon) tells the story of the Targaryen family, ancestors of the famous Mother of Dragons or Khaleesi (played by Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones).
Those who fell in love with Cersei’s madness, admired Arya and laughed at Tyrion Lannister’s humor, get a second chance to enjoy the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros again. This new production comes three years after the much-discussed and criticized last season of Game of Thrones. Coming Sunday, August 21 (Monday, August 22 in Spain), this production arrives as one of the major releases of recent times. The series competes with some of the famous Netflix premieres and another highly anticipated arrival for fiction lovers: “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.”
This new production is based on the novel “Fire and Blood” by author George RR Martin. The series returns to the past and tells what happened 200 years before the events in the original fiction. This first season consists of 10 episodes starring Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel and Rhys Ifans.
The dragons will play a big part in this fiction. In ‘The House of the Dragon’ the ancestry of Daenerys de la Tormenta’s ancestors is discussed. The story revolves around Viserys (Paddy Considine), chosen by the lords of Westeros to take the place on the throne of his grandfather Jaehaerys Targaryen. Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), King Viserys’ younger brother and heir apparent, will be one of this season’s great characters.
Also appearing in the prequel are characters like Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King, and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), the king’s firstborn, pure Valyrian blood and dragon rider, whom she does not choose the throne because she is a woman. With this little preview, surely more than one wanted to see The House of the Dragon with the same emotion that they received a new chapter of Game of Thrones.
