Visit the IKEA stand to see an exhibition of previously favorite clothes received from local Barnardo’s charities. This event is a great reminder that one person’s trash can be someone else’s treasure. Giving unwanted items to charity is a great way to prevent them from being thrown in the trash, while charity shopping is a great way to reduce the amount of new textiles you consume. . Slow and Sustainable Fashion Business, November 9, 10:00 to 12:00, QUB
A group of three local businesswomen will share their views on working in the sustainable fashion industry. Marie Nankaru designs jeans in her unique design of clothing for adults and children. Dragon’s Den Success Story Gaynor Thomasson uses seaweed to create a stylish collection of children’s shoes. Angela Turkington uses non-toxic botanicals and floral pigments as pigments, and the end result is a delicate abstract design on beautiful silk. Titanic Denim Recycle Show, November 12, 11am-3pm, IKEA
This drop-down event allows attendees to create an updated piece of clothing from the Titanic Denim experience. The business reinvents jeans and creates new clothes and accessories. This event, hosted by IKEA, reminds us that recycling is the perfect way to breathe new life into our unwanted clothes so we can enjoy them again in the coming months, or even years.

The Cloakroom Preloved Boutique will host an evening of hassle-free retail therapy and styling advice. Participants bring in five slightly obsolete items and have the opportunity to exchange them for five new items from someone else’s contribution. The barter concept allows you to clean and update your wardrobe without harming the environment or spending a penny. Mary McGuigan, owner of business and image consultancy at Corporate & Creative Image, will also be willing to share her expert advice on how to dress according to color, shape, and your lifestyle – of course, in a stable way!
