The apathetic assessment of the conflict in the Middle East has hopefully finally disappeared as a result of the recent terrorist massacres against Israel. The state has already moved closer to Europe. And vice versa.
For decades, the Austrian view of Israel and the conflict in the Middle East was supposedly neutral, but in reality was characterized by a certain indifference and detachment from reality: the Israelis oppress the Palestinians, their fighters defend themselves, sometimes with stones , sometimes with bombs. The conflict may be bloody, but it is still far away and the deaths remain unknown. Things have changed since October 7, 2023 at the latest. Completely different. Such as the attacks in Paris on November 13, 2015, the number of victims of which is lower than those in Israel, which stirred and changed Europe.
