A ‘valid device’ was found in a security alert in West Belfast.
A warning was issued Tuesday evening, April 5, at Moore Park Mews as residents evacuated as PSNI moved the area to safety.
After removing the cords, the subject was examined.
Police officers and ammunition technicians were on site and the facility has now been declared a viable device and has been moved for further inspection, said PSNI Inspector Moutrey.
“The temporarily evacuated residents have returned to their homes and the cordon has been removed.
“I would like to thank the locals and everyone who has been troubled for their patience while we worked to secure the area.
I would also ask anyone who has information, or who has witnessed something suspicious, to call us at 101 on 05/04/22 1770.
Information can also be submitted to Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
