“I can’t bring good news”

Date:

The renewal of the General Council for the Judiciary (CGPJ) has been over three years in the making, as has the next one by the Constitutional Court.

The leader of the PP, Alberto Nunez Feijoorevealed that, following his conversation with the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezin the Palacio de la Moncloa, both agreed to resume negotiations on the pending renewal of the CGPJ and the Constitutional Court and to remove the reference to “disabled” people from Article 49 of the Constitution.

The renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) has been going on for more than three years, as well as the next of the Constitutional Court, as well as the reform of Article 49 of the Magna Carta and also the unblocking of the suppression of the requested voting for residents abroad.

The new PP chairman has assured that talks will be restored in these matters “from today”

Of course, in the case of the CGPJ, it has insisted on the idea of the PP that it is necessary for the Spanish government to agree to change the current method of electing the members of the governing body of judges and magistrates, in order to improve , so that they are elected members with the “most suitable, independent and respected profiles in the judicial career”.

Still, Feijóo lamented the meeting’s lack of economic results: “It was much less fruitful than I would have liked. I can’t bring good news.”

Feijóo: ‘It has been much less fruitful than I would have liked’

At a press conference in Moncloa after the more than three-hour meeting with Sánchez, Feijóo explained that the meeting “very friendly”however, no additional measure has been agreed to alleviate the situation of the economic crisis, beyond the decision already approved by the government.

Feijóo has also criticized the fact that the meeting was held no known agenda or at least some minimal documentation that would have made it possible to specify the topics to be discussed and settle any agreements.

The People’s Party chairman has assured that the Spanish government president has not accepted any of his proposals to tackle the crisis and inflation.

In addition, Feijóo has ensured that the Spanish government “intends to validate without further ado” the Royal Decree law, that is, without incorporating any amendment. Feijóo regrets that Sánchez has not even considered it appropriate to submit an alternative proposal as he has suggested and that, as he has indicated, he will send it explicitly and documented to Moncloa.

In the opinion of the chairman of the PP, the economic policy of the Spanish government fails in diagnosis, because the current situation has not started with the war, and it also fails in the solutions.

The meeting, which heralds a new phase in their relationship after the replacement of Pablo Casado as leader of the popular party, started on time, at 11 a.m. this Thursday, after a handshake greeting on the steps of the palace of la Moncloa, where both mask for the photographers, to put it back on to enter the site.
