the celebrations of Day of September 11 started this Sunday morning with the traditional flower offerings at the monument to Rafael Casanova in Barcelona, where the ERC delegation was received with a whistle and cries of ‘out’ and ‘traitors’.
The celebrations kicked off Saturday night at 10 p.m. with torchlight marches in several Catalan cities, including Barcelona, in the Les Moreres Fossar.
The ERC leaders, led by the President, Oriol Junquerasand the Deputy Secretary General and ERC Spokesperson, Martha Vilaltahave come to the sacrifice shouting “independence” while receiving a whistle from the people concentrating at the monument.
The offer was opened by the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonesand the ministers of his government, followed by the members of the parliamentary council, led by the first vice-president of the chamber acting as president, Alba Vergés, who takes the place of the suspended Laura Borràs.
After the offer, Aragonès spoke briefly to the media to reiterate the message he launched in his institutional speech to the Diada yesterday: ‘Catalonia will vote again for its collective future’said the president, who has invited citizens to express themselves today “with all the pluralism” and “to gather strength”.
