When it comes to transparency, Wien Energie has pushed itself to breaking point in the past two weeks, even having to divulge trade secrets to get rid of the speculation accusation – at least for now. On Monday, the municipality had to defend the much-criticized emergency powers of 1.4 billion euros in the finance committee in the personal union of alderman Hanke.
And of course there was a lot to discuss, because while a normal committee meeting lasts about 15 minutes, this time the members took significantly more time for the 1.4 billion euros.
