Txeroki He was arrested in France on November 17, 2008, and the courts of both countries sentenced him to multiple sentences. In 2011, he was sentenced to 377 years in prison for 21 attempted murders and terrorist acts.

It is not the first time he has been extradited to Spain to face trial, as he also had to appear before the National Supreme Court in 2009, 2015 and 2019. In the latter case, Aspiazu was acquitted by the Supreme National Court of the 2001 Getxo murder case of magistrate José María Lidón, in which it is estimated that there is not enough evidence to consider him the author of the shots that ended his life. to live.
