Elkarrekin Podemos-IU proposes to ensure that the professional exclusivity in Osakidetza, and one regimen incompatibility with private health care for service heads at Osakidetza.

The purple coalition signed up this morning do not propose a law in the Basque Parliament proposing measures to counter the “general deterioration of the public health service that both the public and professional staff have denounced”.

As explained by Jon Hernández, a parliamentarian from this formation, in the non-legislative proposal he registered today, the Basque government always protects itself from the complaints of the citizenry, the waiting lists and the protests of the staff behind the same excuse: ” faculties are missing”. While it is a “real” problem, he says, “it is not the only cause of public health deterioration, nor is it a situation that has been achieved overnight. It is a problem that is motivated by by various factors and by the policies that have been implemented over the past decades”.

For this reason, in order to cope with the lack of doctors, Elkarrekin Podemos-IU proposes within this initiative to take “structural measures” regarding “the improvement of working conditions to ensure that the Basque public health performs as a attractive job for and doctors, especially in specialties where there is more problem”.

Likewise, it demands that “the sustainability of professional talent in the Osakidetza area is ensured by taking measures that prevent private health care from beheading public health care professionals”, and that “reinforce professional exclusivity in health care that promotes equity and universality in health care guarantees: public health”.
