Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen is currently on a sensitive solidarity visit to war-torn Ukraine. On Wednesday afternoon, he also met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kiev.
Van der Bellen had already emphasized beforehand: “We are on Ukraine’s side, we will not let them down.” supported by these organizations.
Visited the Bucha massacre memorial
Also on the program was a visit to Bucha, the suburb of Kiev where horrific war crimes were committed.
Van der Bellen attended Bucha’s “School nr. 3”. The roof has been completely renewed with Austrian help. The Federal President also visited a memorial at the church, which commemorates the massacre of civilians.
