“I couldn’t ignore it, carry on as if nothing had happened”

Date:

The Spanish president has admitted his guilt in the Congress of Deputies regarding the results achieved by the PSOE over the past 28 years. In addition, he has challenged the PP and Vox to explain what it means to repeal sanchismo and has equated them by affirming that they are far-right and far-right.

The President of the Government of Spain and Leader of the PSOE, Pedro Sanchezassured the Socialist deputies and senators this Wednesday that he made the decision to bring forward the general elections to July 23 because of his “conscience” and thinking of his colleagues and his “work” after the defeat in the regional and municipal elections.

“I couldn’t ignore it, carry on as if nothing had happened”, he said at the session of the Congress of Deputies three days after the election, in which the PSOE lost the vast majority of its territorial power. “No leader can look the other way when his own receive such an undeserved punishment,” he added.

That said, he has admitted that he likes to win and “it hurts to lose”. “It would miss more,” he exclaimed. Sánchez therefore believes that, after this first consequence of 28 million, the second will be that in all the institutions where the PSOE ruled, they are now PP and VOX, who have described them as far-right and far-right.

“Wonderful regional presidents and mayors will be displaced, despite the fact that many of them have gained more electoral support,” he said, adding that they will do so with a program known to only want “withdraw sanchismo“.

In this context, he challenged them to explain and asked them whether it means that things such as the increase in the SMI, the minimum vital income, the Housing Act or the increase in pensions will be abolished.

Likewise, he has asked all socialist parliamentarians to “give the fight” even though the work ahead is “enormous” because the right and far right are “courageous and have no shame” in going back.
