EH Bildu achieves a total of 107 mayoral offices (15 in Álava, 41 in Bizkaia and 51 in Gipuzkoa), while the PNV retains 92. Bilbao and San Sebastián will continue to have a jeltzale mayor, while Vitoria will inaugurate a socialist mayor.
The Mayors of the three CAV capitals they remain in the hands of the jeltzales and the basque socialists, but the pro-independence coalition EH Bildu becomes the force that gains the most mayoral positions, following the constitution of the municipalities that took place on Saturday 17 June.

The Popular Party has achieved two mayors in Euskadi: Labastida and Baños de Ebro (a town with about 300 inhabitants). In Labastida, the PNV had given up on nominating a candidate, despite its support for EH Bildu to prevent the people from taking power.

Jose Maria Gorronocandidate of the Guztiontzako Herria platform, has been chosen mayor of Gernika for the fifth time, this time thanks to the votes for the council members of the PNV. In his speech, he announced that he will resign in a month’s time and that the position will pass to his brother. PNV would have made its support for the inauguration dependent on Gorroño’s subsequent resignation.
