No appointment with a specialist, unmanned emergency services or hours of waiting in the front room: this should all be a thing of the past soon. More panelists and primary care centers should be the solution.
As reported, 100 more panel doctors will be hired in Austria by the end of the year. “The health care system has gone beyond its limits in the past three years,” says ÖVP member of the National Council Elisabeth Scheucher-Pichler. The first decisions have already been made. By 2025, the government also wants to install 120 primary care centers. There are currently 40 of them – and only one of them is in Carinthia (see below). According to the Federal Target Control Agreement, five are planned. However, complicated incorporation processes and contracting procedures slow everything down.
