Three of the five groups represented on the Biscayan Boards following the May 28 elections decided to submit their candidacy.
Among them that of the current deputy for Public Administration and Institutional Relations, Elixabete Etxanobe, of the PNV, a formation that won the elections and obtained 23 of the 51 junteros in the Chamber.
Similarly, EH Bildu registered a candidacy, which has 15 representatives in the Chamber and proposes Iker Casanova for the post of general deputy. The PP, with three representatives, presented Raquel González as a candidate for the position.
The provincial chamber is supplemented by eight junteros from the PSE-EE and two from Elkarrekin.

For his part, EH Bildu believes that “in the debate between the candidacy of the Basque Nationalist Party and Euskal Herria Bildu, the existence of two models for the territory will be raised: one anchored in the past with old answers, installed in the inertia it is represented by the PNV, and a model for the future, it represented by EH Bildu, who proposes a new global analysis, a new way of doing politics and new progressive policies that defend the interests of the majority”.
