Kogler at Johannitern – This is how the government now wants to help the NGOs

Date:

Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler will visit the Johanniter Center North on Thursday. The non-profit sector provides essential and indispensable social services in Austria. The National Council therefore last week considered new resolutions on amendments to the Volunteers Act.

On the one hand, they want more pocket money and a free climate card for participants in the voluntary social year with an amendment to the Volunteers Act, on the other hand non-profit organizations and self-employed persons must also be entitled to the energy cost subsidy in the future.

75 percent of civil servants will remain in the organizations for a few years after the end of the voluntary social year. “Due to the special way they interact with people, the officials explore their social skills and transfer their social empathy to the population,” emphasizes the federal director Petra Grell-Kunzinger of the Johanniter on Thursday at the “Krone”.
