EH Bildu’s general coordinator assures that the ball is in PSOE’s court, insisting that his coalition will “do everything in our power” so that PP and Vox do not rule, including voting for Sánchez’s inauguration.
Arnaldo Otegi, general coordinator of Euskal Herria Bildu, recalled in an interview on Boulevard on Radio Euskadi that his formation will facilitate the inauguration of Pedro Sánchez so that “the reactionary right” does not rule. “If it were necessary to vote for Sánchez, “we would do it,” he added.
The general coordinator of the coalition has assured that they will follow the “clear message” of Basque society that they do not want a government of the “reactionary bloc”, but their votes would not be enough to avoid it, since in addition to the bloc of the previous inauguration, the yes of together.
“Ben very respectful of the strategies of the restwith what each political formation and country decides,” Otegi emphasizes, referring to Junts. The nationalist leader believes that Catalonia has also voted “en masse” to stop the government of PP and Vox“but they will have to be the ones to decide”.
Otegi recommended “little noise and a lot of work” in the negotiations between Junts and the PSOE, “that is discussed little in public and much in private”. He believes that “the ball is in the PSOE’s court” as the alternative “always depends on the independents without starting to speak” about the national problem. “I would make this consideration to Puigdemont and tell him I would respect his decisions,” said Otegi.
Regarding the election result of EH Bildu, who has more than 50,000 votes and is placed as the second force in Hego Euskal Herria, Otegi believes that Basque society “as a whole” has valued both the management in town halls and “the work in Madrid”. He stressed that the coalition “does nothing but grow”, but “it is not obsessed” with being the force with the most votes in the next elections for the Basque Parliament. “We are going to present a project and a program of change, and it will be the people who decide, without drama and catastrophizing,” he concluded.
