Interview with Haslauer: – Cash? ‘I don’t need it in the constitution’

Date:

Salzburg’s ÖVP governor Wilfried Haslauer argues in the summer interview “Krone” for more calm on the summer topics of “normal thinkers” and “cash” – also against the view of ÖVP chancellor Karl Nehammer. He cannot understand Alexander Van der Bellen’s complaint.

He’s pretty careful. In fact, he does not say a word about FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl and a possible coalition with the Blues in the federal government. That wasn’t always the case. During the election campaign, the governor of Salzburg, Wilfried Haslauer, had some harsh words for Kickl. A few weeks later, Haslauer was in a coalition with the Salzburg FPÖ frontwoman Marlene Svazek.

“crown”:Governor, the inflation adjustment of politicians’ salaries is currently being discussed emotionally. How did they get Marlene Svazek to agree to Herbert Kickl’s raise?
Wilfried Haslauer: We quickly agreed on that. No convincing was needed for that either. I don’t believe in a zero pay round. Such a measure casts a bad light on the self-image of politicians. The signal goes out that our work is worth nothing.
