The design does not take into account free rental prices
A draft law currently stipulates that rents may not increase by more than five percent per year in the coming years. For the benchmark rents of old buildings and for subsidized rental and cooperative apartments, the inflation adjustment should take place annually from 2025 instead of the previous cumulative valorization every two years. Only one increase per year is permitted for rents in the old buildings category. The free, non-price regulated rental sector is not taken into account.
Maurer did not want to set a date on which the abolition of official secrecy would come into effect. A corresponding draft must be approved by the Council of Ministers in the autumn, but then a two-thirds majority in parliament is required.
