“It seems to us no secret that this ambiguity remains the basis of consensus”

“What happened with the amendment is not a surprise. It does not even change the articles with a comma, it is a part that affects the preamble,” he noted.

The general secretary of ELA, Mitxel Lakuntzawas interviewed today, Thursday, in the program “Boulevard” on Radio Euskadi, where he gave a trade union lecture on the last-minute agreement reached by the PSE-EE and the PNV regarding the partial corrections to the Education Act. “What happened to the amendment? No surprisedoes not even change the article with a comma, it is a part that affects the preamble,” he emphasized.

Lakuntza added that in the discussions they had with the Ministry of Education, from the beginning general criticismthat is, “they wanted to change some things so that everything remains the same, it is no secret to us that this ambiguity remain the basis of consensus”.

He has also been critical of the LAB association, referring to the “poor and ambiguous agreement reached with the Basque government”. “The workers know that this agreement is not the solution, that it is generic. “And why did they sign such a paltry deal?” he asked, to which he himself replied: “Because they want to give the union support for a political consensus. that is an earlier agreement than the agreement that PNV, PSE-EE and EH Bildu had reached in this case with the Education Act.”

In this sense, he recalled that ELA always insists on the autonomy of the union, “to always be able to put the interests of workers above the current situation.”
