The general secretary of the PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, is the only candidate for Lehendakaritza in the primary process opened by his party, as reported by the Socialist Party in a note.

Within the scheduled period, which ended at 3 p.m., the party’s Electoral Guarantee Committee in Euskadi registered a single pre-candidacy, that of Andueza, for the election of the PSE-EE candidate for lehendakari in the next regional elections.

The general secretary of the Basque Socialists delivered the necessary documentation this morning and now, according to the rules of the call for the process, he must obtain the approval of at least 6% of the registered members to acquire the status of candidate in the census .

Andueza will have to provide the guarantees before 3 p.m. on Wednesday October 18th with the expectation of being definitively declared a candidate October 20.

If a single candidacy is finally declared, the rules provide that the National Commission for Electoral Guarantees will proceed to declare the said person as the candidate of the PSE-EE (PSOE) for the Lehendakaritza.

“Filled with delusioninformed about the responsibility which means leading the socialist project to realize the Lehendakaritza, I have officially presented my candidacy,” Andueza said on the social network X.

“Euskadi deserves to open a new stage, with more ambition and progress, with courageous responses to a reality that is rapidly changing, with more social justice and more equality,” he emphasized. “The PSE-EE is ready to carry out this task,” he added.
