State Governor Hans Peter Doskozil survived laryngeal surgery at the Leipzig University Hospital last Friday “as planned and without complications”. He announced this on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon. He is doing “well considering the circumstances”.
According to the attending physician, after the first examinations it can be assumed that “the procedure had the hoped-for success and the respiratory problems that had recently occurred were eliminated,” Doskozil also said. He is currently recovering from the operation and will spend a few more days in the clinic for observation and rest before returning to Burgenland.

Already the sixth operation
It was Doskozil’s sixth operation on the larynx. According to the governor, it is a rare, harmless hardening of the cartilage structure. “Because in my case it is chronic, this ossification can occur again and again, and at different time intervals that are difficult to estimate,” Doskozil explained almost two weeks ago when he announced the procedure as part of the budget speech in the state parliament.
