They are filing the case that led to Ayerdi’s dismissal due to the delay in the investigation process

Date:

According to the order of a court in Pamplona, there was no agreement to record a statement from someone under investigation within the time limits of the investigation process. Manu Ayerdi, former Minister of Economic Development of the Navarra government, resigned after hearing about the case.

Investigative Court Number 2 of Pamplona has closed the investigation into the Davalor casefor which he resigned Manu Ayerdi as Minister of Economic Development of the Government of Navarre, after the twelve-month period for instruction has expired. Therefore, the cause will be filed.

The case led to Ayerdi’s resignation at the time due to the criminal case opened by the Supreme Court for alleged deception and embezzlement in connection with government aid granted to the Davalor company.

As recalled in its order of the Supreme Court of Navarra, the Supreme Court agreed to initiate the procedure on January 21, 2021 and the Investigative Court of Pamplona issued the extension of the investigation on February 18, 2022.

After accepting the appeal of those investigated, the court considers that the day on which the twelve-month period specified in the law began to run was January 21, as it concerns the same procedure.

The extension of the instruction was therefore agreed in February, even though that was already the case “exceeded the period required by law”..

For this reason, procedures after that date are invalid. The statements of those investigated that were to be made next week are not made. “The summons issued for this purpose must be quashed,” he explains in the order.

Have not consented to taking a statement from a person under investigation“It is not possible to direct the proceedings against anyone. Therefore, the only possible solution is to close the summary without prosecution,” he said.
