Negotiations between political groups are progressing in Pamplona form a new municipal government. The meetings between EH Bildu, Geroa Bai and Contigo Zurekin are continuous and the agreement could be very close. According to Zurekin Nafarroa councilor Txema Mauleón, the intention is to announce this before the weekend.

At the moment they have not specified a date, but Mauleón has confirmed that negotiations are on the right track. “We are missing small details of the program and the government’s plan. I am confident that we will certainly be able to complete the process this week,” he said.

Likewise, he added that they give a very positive rating because “I think it is going to be a very ambitious program for change and transformation of the city.”

Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding Pamplona’s tax regulations for next year continues, as the proposal submitted by UPN was unanimously approved, but when it was to be ratified in the municipal plenary, Cristina Ibarrola, mayor of the city, suspended the session because he claimed that a motion of censure had been filed.

In this context, EH Bildu, Geroa Bai and the Contigo-Zurekin coalition signed a joint letter yesterday, Wednesday, requesting the Mayor of Pamplona to convene the plenary meeting as soon as possible to finally approve the changes to Tax Regulation Number 1 . which regulates the contributing tax.

However, Ibarrola has reiterated that he is not going to do it, saying that if Pamplona loses 250,000 euros, it will be Joseba Asiron’s responsibility.
