37-year-old Viennese Dominik Wlazny founded the Beer Party in 2015, making him the longest-serving party leader in Austria. The rock musician known by the stage name Marco Pogo studied medicine. In the 2022 federal presidential elections, he unexpectedly came third with 8.31 percent behind Alexander Van der Bellen and the FPÖ candidate Walter Rosenkranz.
