The official trip of the Lehendakari to Corsica begins this Monday with the aim of strengthening cooperation with the Corsican government in the cultural and linguistic field. This is Iñigo Urkullu’s first international after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Today, Monday, the Lehendakari will meet with the President of the Corsican Executive Council, Gilles Simeoni, and the President of the Corsican Assembly, Marie-Antoinette Maupertuis. In addition, he will explain to representatives of politics and civil society the general lines of the Basque self-government and the economic agreement.
This afternoon he will participate in a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in which he will analyze the economic situation of Euskadi and Corsica in the current context characterized by the gradual end of the crisis caused by Covid-19 and by the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the second and last day of his stay in Corsica, the agenda will leave a cultural mark, as Urkullu will visit the Center for Linguistic Immersion and the Museum of Corsica and participate in the “History, Villa, University” meeting .
