There is a lot of rumbling among the corruption hunters. According to information from “Krone”, Gregor Adamovic, who was a prosecutor in the short trial, wants to leave the WKStA. He is said to have applied for a position as a judge at the regional court in St. Pölten. Adamovic is not the only prominent departure from the WKStA.
There is currently a lot of whispering in legal circles about the economic and corruption authority. The reason for this is that known corruption hunters are apparently fleeing the authorities.
“FantaVier”
Once upon a time there was a group within the WKStA called the “Fanta Four”. Four prosecutors received this designation because they had reported the case of the now deceased section chief Christian Pilnacek. The Fanta Four – featuring senior prosecutors Gregor Adamovic, Christina Jilek, René Ruprecht and Elisabeth Täubl – are on the brink of collapse.
Täubl has said goodbye to The Hague, Jilek has officially worked at the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Graz since March 1 and Gregor Adamovic is said to have applied for a position as a judge at the St. Pölten regional court.
Adamovic is said to be “frustrated”.
Adamovic is not just a senior prosecutor of the WKStA. He led the indictment against Sophie Karmasin, as well as the charge of making false statements against former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. And: he started the survey issue that eventually led to the resignation of Sebastian Kurz. His motivation for leaving the WKStA: Insiders claim that Adamovic is “frustrated” because he “cannot assert his positions in the long term” – even though the WKStA’s so-called biggest enemies – the duo of Christian Pilnacek and Johann Fuchs – are was successfully dumped. Nevertheless, there were repeated instructions from the new supervisor in Innsbruck that would go against Adamovic’s wishes.
No one within the WKStA wants to be left with the ‘Ibiza complex’.
There would also be a personal insult. Senior prosecutor Jilek, his most important colleague at the WKStA, allegedly concealed from him the fact that he was applying for a position at the Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office. Because Adamovic is not very popular within the WKStA, his circle of trust is increasingly falling apart. Moreover, no senior prosecutor wants to be left alone with the complex Ibiza procedure, which must come to an end at some point – that would also be a reason for the strong escape movements.
Adamovic was for a long time the favorite of WKStA boss Ilse-Maria Vrabl-Sanda, but this ash has been labeled as ‘brittle’ for some time. If Adamovic really becomes a judge, who will take over his cases in the WKStA? In addition, there is group leader Bernhard Weratschnig, who must have an overview of all matters in the file. Senior prosecutor Roland Koch is well educated, but is said to have indicated several times that he intends to apply for a position as a judge.
