Tatort Reumannplatz: Because they liked the expensive branded jacket of a young passerby, a young gang in Vienna-Favoriten hit and kicked the woman wearing it. Three schoolgirls had to answer for a robbery in Vienna’s Landl. Two accomplices are adults.
How much the situation at Reumannplatz has already deteriorated is evident from the many court files in which the central location in Vienna-Favoriten appears as a crime scene. This was also the case this week, when a new, disturbing case of youth crime was heard in the Viennese countryside.
There are three girls aged 14 and 15 in the dock. Although: Sitting is incorrectly worded: “Do you feel tired because you are lazing here?” Judge Hahn asks the third accused Austrian, a few minutes after she showed up late for her robbery trial.
Photo with jacket for Insta as an apology
During the interrogation, the teenager, who has two previous convictions, behaves rudely. On January 3, she and her two Syrian friends – along with two minor girls under the age of 14 – brutally beat a Viennese woman born in 2008. “I asked her if I could take a photo for Insta with her Armani jacket,” said the first defendant. That was just an excuse.
In fact, the girls wanted to take the expensive garment away from her. The first defendant describes what happened when this did not work immediately: ‘I gave her a fist.’ The girls took turns hitting and kicking their victims. “I took off my jacket,” said the first defendant. The others “pulled” the 16-year-old’s hoodie, fanny pack and cell phone.
Mild conditional sentences
The sentences, which are not legally binding, are mild: five or four months suspended for the two innocent Syrians, three months suspended additional sentence for the snotty Austrian.
