Opportunities for Austrian companies
Opportunities for Austrian companies lie mainly in the agriculture and forestry, food production, oil and gas, energy and healthcare sectors. The Brazilian economy has grown strongly in recent years: by 2.9 percent in 2023. Austria traditionally records a surplus in trade with Brazil: in 2022, exports worth 1.12 billion euros were compared to imports of 449 million euros . More than half of Austria’s exports to South America go to Brazil. About 150 Austrian companies have branches there. About 1,000 companies export from Austria to Brazil.
Brazil wants to invest more than 320 billion euros in the coming years, mainly in water supply, waste processing, energy generation, transport infrastructure and social housing – Austrian companies also want to request orders.
