They seem to be waiting, waiting for what happens in other scenarios, until the election cycles are over,” they criticized.

During an informative breakfast in San Sebastián, spokespersons for Gure Esku, Amalur Álvarez and Josu Etxaburu made a political assessment of the initiative, which, together with the Catalan National Assembly (ANCÇ) and the Federation of Excursionist Entities of Catalonia (FECC) and with the cooperation of Omnium Cultural and Artistes de la República, the next one July 2nd: the so-called ‘Vía Pirenaica’, which aims to be “the beginning of a long-term cooperation” with the aforementioned Catalan entities. According to Gure Esku, “the Ukrainian war it only reinforces the need and call for democratic resolution of political conflicts. Given the situation we are experiencing in Europe, it is not only useful, but also essential to understand the logic of royal politics leads us to war”.

How to participate in the ‘Via Pirenaica’

In addition to explaining the political objectives, Gure Esku spokespersons explained how the July 2 initiative will be developed. Gure Esku’s challenge will be to illuminate 120 peaks, from Jaizkibel to Benasque. As indicated, interested parties must register (10 euros) on the Gure Esku website or in their own city.

The “green” peaks, which are more accessible to the majority, are located in Euskal Herria – the “red” peaks of the Central Pyrenees, reserved experienced mountaineers have limited registration – and each city is assigned one or more peaks.

In addition, those who do not want to go up the mountain can go to Jaizkibel by bus, since in the Guadalupe area there will be “music and good atmosphere” from the afternoon.

The action takes place between sunset and sunset (between 9:45 PM and 10:30 PM).
