The Abertzale coalition advocates adjustments to the areas of housing, healthcare and salaries, worth 350 million euros.
EH Bildu has asked the Basque government for “structural changes” in the 2025 budgets, especially in the area of the economy housing, healthcare and salariesvalued at 350 million euros.
The Basque government, together with EH Bildu, has completed the round of meetings with opposition groups to try to reach a budget agreement, although the executive of PNV and PSE-EE has sufficient majority to approve the bills alone.
After an hour’s meeting with the Minister of Finance and Finance, Noel d’Anjouthe spokesperson of EH Bildu in Parliament, Nerea Kortajaarnaexplained that they have presented a document with their proposal to the executive, which they describe as ‘realistic and concrete’. “As realistic as the failure of neoliberal policies that got us here, and as concrete as the consequences for the lives of citizens,” he emphasized.
For this reason, they propose to ‘reorient’ policy in the three areas mentioned above, housing, salaries and care. Health has not been taken into account because EH Bildu believes that, now that the Health Pact is in force, this is an area in which it should be debated.
In addition to the above, EH Bildu also has a deep tax reform.
“It is not a proposal for small adjustments, we propose structural changes, a government policy that solves citizens’ problems. We aim for a political agreement that guarantees a sufficient level of ambition in these bills,” he added.
After listening to their evaluations, the advisor determined to analyze them and make a proposal on the part of the government, “to continue exploring possible support for the budgets, beyond the parliamentary majority that the Basque government has.”
Yesterday, Monday, D’Anjou met with the PP and with adding; The first was optimistic about supporting the budgets, as long as the amounts for Safety and Health are increased. Sumar, for his part, opposed the proposal, claiming that they were very far away from it, “because they were old.”
