Governor Hans Peter Doskozil needs to be treated in hospital due to mild pneumonia. Just two weeks ago he underwent his eighth operation on his larynx.
The state’s governor spoke out in a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon to “prevent rumors and speculation”: “I am currently being treated with antibiotic infusions at the Oberwart Clinic for mild pneumonia.”
Can go home this week
According to the medical team, he can go home this week. As for the recent surgery, he is also said to be doing ‘fine’.

Despite his stay in hospital, he continues to devote himself to his political activities. “At the moment I still work with my mobile phone and computer. “I am sure that – as already announced – I will soon be able to attend internal appointments on time and then public appointments again on time,” says Doskozil with conviction.
As reported, it was the eighth laryngeal surgery for the state governor recently. The procedure took place after a routine check-up because there was ossification of the cartilage. Doskozil returned to Burgenland last Sunday.
