krone.tv asks – Black-Red-Pink Fix? “At least not blue”

Date:

A survey by krone.tv shows that Austrians are divided in their opinions on a new government: while some rely on the tried and tested, others hope for a breath of fresh air through new partnerships. What is especially clear is that the FPÖ divides people like no other party.

The opinions of those interviewed could hardly be more diverse. A Viennese woman makes her position clear: “SPÖ and ÖVP, without a third party in the alliance,” she explains with conviction. “Three is always one too many – that never works.” Her daughter agrees with a smile: “Too many cooks spoil the broth,” she says.

“The Neos as a relief”
Many Austrians are pinning their hopes on the Neos, which they see as a modern and less rigid alternative. “I am pro Neos,” says one citizen clearly. “This is the only party that speaks intelligently.” She would welcome a coalition of black and pink – “without the FPÖ, please.”

“The Greens did nonsense”
Surprisingly, many citizens are also skeptical of the Greens. “The Greens did a lot of nonsense,” says a Viennese: “They were too erratic for me. I want black-red-pink without green. They can relax in opposition.”

“Full confidence in Nehammer”
Some citizens show complete confidence in the Chancellor. One man sums up his support for the ÖVP leader: “I think Nehammer is the right person to continue as Chancellor. Complete trust.”
