Andoni Ortuzar announces to the armed forces his willingness to continue leading the EBB

“I am at the disposal of this party for whatever it needs. Wherever the members think I am most useful, I will be there. Therefore, it is your time and your decision. Whatever you decide is fine. I only ask you to do that.” participate,” he said.

The chairman of the EBB of the PNV, Andoni Ortuzarhas been set at the disposal of the armed forces for what “the PNV needs” and opens the door to following a fourth termif the members so decide. Moreover, he assured that for him “it was, is and always will be an honor to be at the service of this party” he noted.

“Wherever members think I am most useful, that is where I will be. Therefore, it is your time and your decision. Whatever you decide is fine. I only ask that you participate,” he emphasized in a letter to members.

After months of speculation over whether or not he would continue to lead the party’s National Board, Ortuzar today announced his decides to continue a fourth term at the head of the party, before it starts next Monday, January 20, the first round of the internal electoral process for the renewal of the EBB, which will culminate in the IX General Assembly to be held in San Sebastián from 29 to 30 March.

His continuity at the head of the party was a mystery that he was not willing to reveal until he was as close as possible to the start date of the internal election process.
