Given the budget of more than 900 million euros from the Austrian health insurance fund (ÖGK) before 2025, the medical association is warned.
“The cash register as an important pillar of health care continues to wiggle,” said Öäk President Johannes Steinhart in a broadcast on Saturday. The register representation requires a crisis.
Sustainable increase in efficiency should now be implemented as immediate measures, the financing is secured and the uniform performance catalog implemented, according to Steinhart. The latter would have presented the medical association for a long time. The responsible persons would be the obligation to reinforce solidarity sustainably, Steinhart emphasized: “We are committed to a system that offers every patient the best possible care – this confession must also arise from politics, in the form of concrete measures.”
Crisis top required
“A state like Austria can and must afford that healthcare represents one of the core tasks of the federal government,” says Edgar Wutscher, vice president of the Austrian medical association and chairman of the federal Coury of doctors. In all federal states, the problems would aggravate in some, in some the Ögk did not even exist as a negotiating partner. A crisis with all representatives in health policy is therefore urgently necessary. “It would be a certificate of poverty for a rich country like Austria if the solidarity of solidarity is ruined,” says Wutscher.
Also for Ludwig Health Care “absolute priority”
Healthcare is also “absolute priority” for the mayor of Vienna Mayor Michael Ludwig (Spö). That is why a package for the modernization of the hospitals in Vienna was decided in 2030 and an investment budget of 3.3 billion euros was planned.
The upcoming federal government must also lead health care at the top of the list of priorities. “Now all responsible people are required to come together to resolve the biggest challenges in the health sector,” Ludwig emphasized, who “absolutely” supports the demand of the medical association.
