The way ÖVP Mayor Günter Trettenhahn spoke was disturbing: the head of the market town Bisamberg and assistant professor at the University of Vienna (!) joined in a savage tirade against SPÖ leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner. And now gets a lot of criticism.
Ironically, the mayor of Bisamberg chose the ORF’s much-visited Facebook page “Zeit im Bild” as the stage for his blunders. SPÖ boss Rendi-Wagner could “only tear open the Go…”, according to the ÖVP politician, who is a day job professor at the University of Vienna. “Just disgusting this person and their party,” he raged in a comment (see screenshot above).
The “Krone” tried to reach Trettenhahn by phone and email Friday morning for an explanation. He didn’t respond until 12 noon, but the SPÖ did: “Exactly this culture, this tone, this language that came to light in the ÖVP chats is why people have enough,” says Melanie Erasim, SPÖ – MPs of the mayoral constituency.
Trettenhahn publicly insults the SPÖ federal party leader on Facebook and at the same time the SPÖ as a whole party, including its voters. That has no place in politics.”
