Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico irritated with praise for economic “efficiency” authoritarian states and criticism of European democracy. According to him, fewer parties must be involved in making decisions.
During a visit to Uzbekistan, the left -wing politician said to Slovak journalists on Monday: “It seems more and more that we have to think about a reform of the political system based on free democratic elections in Europe so that we are competitive.”
Countries such as Uzbekistan, but also China or Vietnam are more economically more efficient because they can act more determined. It was only when it comes to research by journalists that Fico weakened that he was of course not busy abolishing democracy.
However, fewer parties must be involved in making decisions to make government decisions less cumbersome: “If you have a hundred political parties, you cannot compete. If you have a government consisting of four political topics, you cannot compete,” he said.
Critics: Fico’s Foreign Policy is “Pro -Russian”
Fico is head of the government in the Eastern EU country since his new election victory in the autumn of 2023. Critics accused him of authoritarian tendencies and a “pro -Russian” foreign policy in a series of opposition masses of the past months. He himself repeatedly replied that the liberal opposition wanted to rebuild the result of democratic elections through pressure from the street.
