Carlos Queiroz, former coach of Portugal and Real Madrid, confirmed on Tuesday that he will once again be the coach of Iran, which he will lead at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (to be held between November 21 and December 18). Queiroz has coached Portugal, South Africa, Colombia, Egypt and between 2011 and 2019 Iran.

The Portuguese coach relieved Dragan Skocicwho managed Iran in the Asian zone qualifiers for Qatar 2022. This will be the third World Cup where Queiroz has managed Iran, after Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018.
