Czech Josef Cerny won the Tour of Slovakia

the czech Joseph Cernyfrom the Quick-Step team, this Saturday achieved the final victory in 66th Tour of Slovakia after a dispute in the fourth and final stage, of 182.1 kilometers between Levoca and Kosice and where the Dutchman Peter Schulting (VolkerWessels) prevailed.

Cerny, 29 years old and four-time national champion of his country, sealed his tenth victory as a professional and the second in a career on the stage, after the one achieved at the Tour of the Czech Republic in 2017, when he inaugurated his record.

The cyclist from Frydek-Mistek dressed as the leader after the second stage and remained in the lead until the end. He finished six seconds between his teammate, the Belgian Mauri Vansevenant and the Dutchman Koen Bouwman (Jumbo-Visma).

Jasper Haest prevailed in the fourth and final stage, beating his teammate and countryman Peter Schulting in the final sprint, where he reached the finish line in Kosice. Third was the Danish Michael Morkov (Quick Step), 13 seconds behind and who beat the rest of the peloton to close the podium.

Josef Cerny succeeded Slovakian Peter Sagan, winner in 2021, in the history of the race.
