Getafe coach Quique Sánchez Flores deemed his side’s draw at Balaídos “fair” despite the “pain” that Celta equalized in the 88th minute with a goal from central defender Joseph Aidoo.
“It hurts for them to mark you in the 88th minute because of how difficult it is to score away from home and get the three points when you’re so close, but if we look at the match, the truth is that Celta deserved to get that goal. Therefore, the result cannot surprise us”, he indicated in a press conference.
The coach from Madrid blamed the qualifying situation for his team being confined to their field in the second half, and said that this point will be reviewed over the days because “it will help us grow”.
“We have to work so that the team does not go through the hardships in the second half. When teams are in quite complicated situations, they tend to protect themselves, and against a rival like Celta who puts a lot of pressure on you, we run out of offensive weapons”, he explained.
