Liverpool sink deeper into the Premier against a good Brighton

Date:

Liverpool lived this Saturday an afternoon of true nightmare at The Amex, a good Brighton gave up, beating him 3-0, making it even more difficult for Jürgen Klopp’s team to qualify for the next Champions League. The ‘reds’ are now eighth in the Premier table.

Liverpool was completely dominated by Brighton in the first half, with continuous attacks from the team of Roberto De Zerbi, with an excellent Evan Ferguson, with the internships of Kaoru Mitoma and the quality of Solly March, suffering in the defense of the ‘reds’, with failures in transition and no arguments in attack. Almost a chance for Mohamed Salah in said first period.

Injuries have weighed heavily on Liverpool since the summer without Sadio Mané and on top of that, added Darwin Núñez’s illness. Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk… Klopp’s problems have accumulated and the Anfield team offers its worst image for a long time, although he improved in the final stretch of the match, when he lost 2-0.

Of course, for Liverpool, when the break came, the best news is that the score is 0-0. VAR ruled out a penalty from Alisson in March in the 40th minute.

But in the second half came Liverpool’s downfall. On 47′ Solly March put Brighton ahead after receiving a pass from Mitoma. And at 53′, March completed his double taking advantage of a Ferguson ball.

He tried to wake up Liverpool and came more often before the goal of Spanish international goalkeeper Robert Sánchez. Cody Gakpo struggled to score his first goal as a ‘red’ player, but not only could he not achieve it, but Danny Welbeck made it 3-0 on the scoreboard with a great goal, assisted by March, as in his best years Welbeck scored with good quality control, to make a hat.
